I remember looking at all the wonderful backlit photos of immigrants on the upper level of the reception center of Ellis Island-faces from all over the world filled with hopes and dreams on coming to America.
Ten days later the New York skyline changed with one hateful strike--and so did we all.
You are so right Faye..America changed forever on that sad fateful day! May we never forget!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW...Shanksville Pa. is about 3 hours nw of Hanover Pa.
I still can't believe it was ten years ago. This was something that shocked the world and I'm sure changed us all in some way.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was one of those immigrants who sailed into New York Harbor. I wonder sometimes why people still want to come here.... but as bad as things get sometimes, it's still so much better than some of the other places people come from.
ReplyDeleteOh my. That is an eery feeling. I'm glad you were not in NYC on 9/11. Your friend got a wonderful pic of New York's skyline. It has forever changed.
