Friday Skywatch and Fences - Spring Dawn

A welcome sight earlier this week.  After the first two weeks of spring bringing only cold, rainy, snowy weather, finally a promise of sunshine in the dawn sky.

Also glad to see that my neighbor's forsythia blooms have survived the cold temps.  However, those boards, blocks, and logs crammed under the fence do not make me nearly as happy.  The entire perimeter of the fence looks like this--all due to Chet the Digger's winter's work.  Right now the only remedy I can think of is a "pawectomy".  Your suggestions?

  2. Lovely spring photos - I'm glad you are finally getting some spring color.

I have no suggestions for diggers - everything I ever tried years ago, failed.

    Lovely sunrise!!

  8. ha ha. my neighbor has 2 dogs that are terrible diggers. she and i had to cut cattle fence panels in half, then wire them to the bottom of her chain-link fence to lay an interior perimeter around her dog pen to keep them from digging.

  14. Beautiful sky shots, Faye.
When we first adopted Lindy from a rescue society, she was a digger. I had to put bricks inside one long section of fence, and chains on the gates. She then turned her attention to digging holes in the yard, which I used for planting bushes.
She learned, eventually, but she still had a hard time resisting the nice, big, wet spot we make when we empty her wading pool in the summer. Something about wet dirt makes her want to dig. So we moved her wading pool onto the concrete. LOL

  15. Pretty yellow forsythia against the blue fence, I like that.
Maybe a potted plant against the fence or do what I do and just call it "art". I think it's a grand picture.
Love the night sky and always have liked to be under it in the evenings.

  16. What a glorious morning. Once a dog has a digging instinct, what can you do?
