Started this blog to exchange ideas and commentary with friends and others having an interest in joining the discussions. Greatest life accomplishments include: 1.organized my 3rd grade class to check out library books for me to get around librarian's weekly limit--Amazon.com, the Mullins Elementary 3rd Grade Class of 1956 is still waiting for "thank you" notes; 2. volunteered in the Peace Corps, island of St. Kitts, West Indies; 3.taught adults to read, earn their GEDs., and speak English as a second language; 4. bought a border collie puppy for $6, got evicted rather than give him up, and began a life-long love affair with all things "Dog"; 5. joined a physical fitness boot camp in my mid-50s--don't mess with someone who's been doing regulation pushups in wet grass at 5:30 a.m.; 6. walked across Northern England with best friend Sally--over 80 miles from the Irish to North Seas; and 7. travelled to many foreign countries for pleasure and work.

Wordless Wednesday - Toenail Clipping Wars

Chet here - I know this is Wordless Wednesday, but thought you needed a bit more info about this scene to fully appreciate my predicament.  It seems the Roommate is tired being scratched by a crocodile (she calls me that sometimes) so I get short leashed to the deck railing and outfitted with that ridiculous snout holster.  She then sidles up to me with the treat bag, those nipper things and fake sweetey words intending to clip my toenails.  Well it was nip (get it?) and tuck for a bit, but as you can see--I won.  The Roommate left the scene muttering about me winning the battle but not the war.  What the heck does that mean?

For more photos that need no--or very little--descriptions go to Wordless Wednesday .

He does look rather smug, doesn't he? You will have to be very sneaky to get near him with them again...great entry today! (I have edited my post to explain that photo - hubby spotted it in a yard while we were traveling and turned around so I could get a photo of it.)
Thanks for linking up today!

TexWisGirl-Chet's cousin Hazel the Spaniel has urged him to lie like a sack of concrete during the pedicure and wait for the treats for doin' nuthin'. He's not buying it. :-)

Our two big dogs are not fond of snipping either but I exert my Alpha-ness and they grudgingly submit. It's not easy though.

Looks like he's panting after a workout -- and not looking you in the eye ;)

haha! Been there, done that! It's so nice when they cooperate and such a hassle when they don't!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, appreciate it. The last time I attempted to cut my dog's nails I clipped them too short and he bled all over the front porch before I could get the bleeding stopped. NEVER again.

Chet, I wouldn't get too smug if I were you.

That is quite the challenge for most dog owners. Chet will eventually get used to it. Stand your ground and don't give in!

HA! Well, you might as well give in because your roommate is NOT going to give up. :)) (Best of luck, Faye!)

I used to know a woman who put PB on the cupboard door, and clipped nails while the dog licked the PB.
