Friday Fences - New England Practical
This fence was in a New England garden--in either Massachusetts or Connecticut. I took this photo on a late 1990s garden tour of the area, going all the way up into Vermont as well. We also saw White Flower Farm and Logee's Greenhouse, both well-known for catalog sales of plants for the serious gardener. This particular garden featured a series of fenced garden "rooms". I call this one New England practical for the bushel basket hanging on the fence ready to hold garden tools or clippings.

I was looking at the plants that fence is supporting, and thinking how they soften the straight lines of the pickets!!!
A lovely fence, Faye! :)
I bet this is stunning when the flowers bloom along the fence. That is a perfect title for this post Faye...hanging a basket to hold garden tools is indeed very pratical n handy!!!
ok, i say it is spring & those flowers need to bloom. go ahead. now! ok, well, nothing happened. well, maybe soon. nuts. i'm ready for spring, can you tell. ha. ha!! great shots. (:
a pretty place!
Not only do I love the fences, but the gardens!! And of course being able to travel through New England! One of my favorite places!
Your upcoming cruise sounds wonderful! Never been to Russia...yet!
We will be heading back to Belgium later this year for a family wedding, so most of our travels will be close to home for now.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comment!
Hope to see you again!
Happy Friday!

A garden with lots of charm! - nice shots.
Beats a plastic bucket from
Wal-Mart tucked under a bush. I liked this photo very much.
I hope you have more fences from the tour...I certainly enjoyed these.
Very nice garden fence! Love the photos!
I love the basket, so glad you pointed it out.
I wish I kept my gardens this neat! And I very much like the unpainted fence.
Love your fence, it is the fence of my dreams, rustic and surrounded by wonderful flowers, trees and bushes
Gorgeous fence pics. So nice to see in the middle of winter.
very nice. i love White Flower Farm although I have never been there even though my sister lives in Conn. Thank you for your compliments on my blog and to be honest I cannot remember what the house behind the fence looked like. I think it was a rather stately brick house however because the photo was taken across the street from Salem Commons in Mass.
These pictures always seem to inspire stories in my head. Thank you.
Lovely shots, Faye. I like this type of fence very much, especially when combined with an old fashioned cottage garden.
