I know promised to quit dipping into photo archives from a July gardening tour of Old Louisville, but life has interfered with me getting out to find new fences. Plus, there's just so many good examples of beautiful fences and homes in Louisville's old Victorian neighborhood. Just a few within a couple of blocks on 4th Street:
This beauty that looks like a verdigris green finish on wrought iron leads into a garden. The flower scroll design is echoed in the side fence panels:
Now for more examples of unique fences from all over, or to share your entry, be sure to stop by our host Janis' place at Life According to Jan and Jer . And I'm sure she wouldn't mind if, like me, you need to dip into the photo archives for some fences!

they really are beautiful fences and gates - and very fitting for the architecture and greenery surrounding the property.
Beautiful wrought iron works! Not something we see around here in these neck of the woods!
gorgeous homes & fences. wow!!! (:
That gate is one of the prettiest wrought iron gates I have ever seen! It's so beautifully crafted. SO GLAD you decided to share it tonight!
I love the fence with the greenish color. It's just gorgeous.
To answer your question about the white horse...I thought he looked ribby too. But I'm sure he is well fed and cared for as the whole place is beautifully taken care of.
I do like wrought ironwork and these are pretty special works of art.
Beautiful ornamental fences and gates! A lot of work went into making those.
o, that is a great worked fence and gate. Love that work. And your shots. :)
No compalints here, I love the fences you're putting up. And, that's why we have archives, for those times when life gets in the way.
I too have delved into my archives for next weeks FF, and dug out the tree top walk we did a couple of years ago, thanks for the idea ;-)
Wow, I love these fences!
The archives are there for a reason. If they were bad photos you would have deleted them long ago. Instead you have saved them for the right time to post. This is a great variety of fences you have shown today. Keep on clicking.
gorgeous detail! i had to dip into the old archives too!
Never apologize for dipping into the archives for photos like this! Great work on those fences...I love the ornate ones. I am definitely going to be snapping away when we get back to Charleston in November!
Nice pictures with some beautiful "fence" / doors you show.
Thank you for visiting my book.
I live only a few miles from areas where there are goats / sheep ..... love to move there.
Wish you a good weekend :)

Yours are much more elaborate than the one I featured today!! ;)
These are just beautiful Faye...Love the look of wrought iron! LOL...I don't mind pulling pics from your archives....I am going to do that very thing for my camera club challenge...would you believe we have to take a photo of a "Fence" haha
Oh yeah! Those are great examples.
Awesome fences and gates, Faye. Reminds me of Charleston. We visited Charleston and I loved seeing the old home and their fancy gates/fences..
Hugs,
Betsy
My advice is to NOT stop now. These photos are GREAT! :)
Amazing how simple it can be to communicate with people and have them understand a certain topic, you made my day.
