You know how you sometimes spot just glimpses of barns from the interstate--especially if you're a Barn Charmer? There are a few that I've had my eyes on from driving I-64 just outside Louisville. This is one that I could just barely see the silo and part of the roof. So, I figured out where it might be and, sure enough, found it on some neglected property just off a road running behind some housing developments. Doubt that it will be around for long because of the prime location and land.

that old beauty was once a real looker in its heyday, don't you know! I'd love to tour inside... i do hope they salvage the old wood, at least. look at the window falling out on the side... such a shame

And to think, at one time this was the pride and joy of the farmer, and his wife and family felt safe and secure, knowing their farm was well taken care of. It is sad to see such beauty fall apart, and then be replaced by fast built condos, apartments or houses that are now being built, and according to the builders, are often not planned to last more than 25 years - at best. What a shame.

What a neat building.
You never know. There are a few barns in my area that have withstood the surrounding areas building up around them. One is even smack in the middle of the city now, but still standing, and still in use.
