Today, my friend Sally spotted this gorgeous yard that just sings spring in Norton Commons. Luckily, I had my camera since I was fence "hunting" after we finished our pilates session. So many good lessons in this landscaping--a simple white fence that complements the house; substantial fence end posts; a clean picket design; small dogwood trees in each corner that branch over the fence to blend with new carefree roses that will probably bloom all summer long--right now the new growth looks wonderful with the dogwoods.
Viewing clockwise, here are full-sized photos from the collage:
Closeup view of fence, dogwood, and rose in bloom--smashing combo!
Dogwood blooms almost hiding the fence end posts.
Good idea of the proportions tree to fence to rose bushes.
Street view of the planting --sorry for the shadows, it was high noon!
Yet another view of the winning combo!
And finally, a perfect "bouquet"--blush pink with pale yellow-green centers.
How much fun is legal when you're "gardening" with your camera? Apparently a lot! :-) Linking to Friday Fences at Life According to Jan and Jer .

the dogwoods are stunning, but with the cute house and quaint picket, it makes the photo complete.
what a cute area. love the dogwood. so neat!! ( :
Glorious photos - lovely fences. I am out of fence photos - I'm going to have to look around and find some new ones.
Thanks, Faye, for your nice comment on my blog.
I love these photos. I lived in NC for several years and this Minnesota girl learned what spring is supposed to be. When I learned they had Low Spring and High Spring, I nearly lost it.
Our trees are barely budding and very few little flowers are poking their heads up. They'll be coming along. . .seems like a long winter though. Lots of ice still on the lakes and the boys wanna go fishing!
Cheers,

Wow, somebody has a gorgeous yard! Beautiful landscaping!
i love that yard!
How do you spell g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s ? Wow ! I think I'm drooling over the lushness of that garden. Nuttin' like that here in the High Desert. Thanks !
Wow, are these ever pretty photos. You can't beat a white picket fence and roses and other flowers. The flowering dogwoods are a bonus here. Beautiful! Have a great weekend. Pamela
The dogwood is so camera friendly! Very pretty!
Spring is bursting all over in these shots...simply fabulous!
Absolutely gorgeous. And that last photo, Faye, when embiggened is quite stunning.
The dogwood and the white picket fence are the perfect compliments! Really lovely!
Picket fences are my favorite... Love the beautiful spring flowers.
I agree with you, Faye! The way everything complements each other in that house made it visually appealing. And since you're scouting for fences, are you thinking of having this same type of fence in your home? Especially if you have plants and flowers as well, the low fence will allow your neighbors to view and enjoy your plants too. Please update us on what you chose!

The picket fence is a long-lasting symbol of property ownership and everything that goes with that concept.
